Light Duty Trucks
Light duty trucks are the categorization of trucks. They can include sports utility vehicles, pickup trucks and vans, ambulance, flatbed truck, dump truck, Cab and chassis truck, Stake truck, SUV, Tow truck, Salvage truck, Canopy express, Panel truck. A canopy express is one of the light duty cargo van. Behind the seat of the driver they have an open area which is used for loading fruits and vegetables. It was also used for the transportation of other things like radio equipment and newspapers which need simple access. International harvester, general motors dodge and other manufactures had built them. But unfortunately after world war two its sales was declined and it was last offered in 1955. You can buy them second hand as some of the car owners still have these trucks.
Another light duty trucks are pickup trucks. Their tops are open and have a back load area. They have a separate cabin and/or compartment or back load area. At the back side some of the pickups have a tray which is flat in shape. While the rest have a special mounted body at the back of the cabin.
A panel truck is one of the light duty trucks. It does not have any window it means it is a windowless cargo van which is built on the truck chassis. This is widely used for the delivery of diapers, retail bakery products, laundry, flowers and many other consumer conveniences. They are used by maintenance and construction contractors and sometimes also used as ambulances. The passenger versions of panel trucks were GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Suburban and international Harvester Travelall. Today minivans have taken some of their functions.
Tow truck is a light duty truck which is also known as a breakdown truck, a wrecker, a breakdown lorry or a recovery truck. It is used to load disabled motor vehicles from one place to another place. It is also used to recover motor vehicles that are no more on a derivable surface. An emergency road services operator usually provides the towing services. Vehicles are regularly towed in the collisions or breakdowns case, or may be seized for the parking violations or driving in influence, and many other crimes.
